In the modern world, in whatever business you are running, social media presence has become part and parcel of life. Most start-ups and some major corporations that have experimented with social media and now reaping benefits in customers engagement, management of PR crisis and announcing new initiatives.
So if you want to enter the new world of social media, what are the social media assets you really need?
The good news is that most of these assets are free and setting up is relatively easy, the real challenge is the management of these assets.
On my list of social media marketing assets a business owner should have is #1 Facebook. With more than 800 million users I am sure there are some people on that platform that would be somewhat favorable to your business. Finding them and engaging with them is as simple as using their ad platform to run ads specifically targeting the demographic that your business caters to. Keeping in mind that social media marketing by using a business page to engage with consumers is different than direct response marketing.
Social media marketing asset #2 is Youtube. The fact about it is people love video, the proof is in the pudding. Most people would rather watch an engaging video about a subject they are interested in rather than read, Content on the internet has be entertaining, social and informative if it is going to stand a chance in this new information age. Setting up a Youtube channel for your business is a great idea to get more exposure and engagement for your company.
Social media marketing asset #3 is LinkedIn. LinkedIn in my opinion would be the third best choice because here you are able to engage with professionals. If you are doing any business to business sales this is a great arena to be in.
Social media marketing can be use to engage with customers on a social level as well as using direct response marketing by buy traffic from these platforms and sending them directly to a sales page or video. A clever use a lot of marketers have been doing is sending the traffic to a registration link for a live webinar and then selling from the webinar after delivering great content. Your use of social media marketing is only limited to your creativity. For more information on social media marketing read our article Social Media Marketing: How To Be Effective.
